In Friday's Southern Illinoisan newspaper they ran a story about a poor little old lady in Benton who had to give up her dog because of hard times in the economy. Are you KIDDING ME? Stories like this appear in the talking points for the Obama campaign. It is always a little old lady having to make choices.
I can remember not long ago people where forgoing their prescription medications because they could not afford them. I can also remember when it was reported that old people were eating dog food to survive. Now we have old ladies having to give up their pets.
The story also said she had to stop going to church because she could not afford the gas. What kind of Christian is she? The Bible clearly says not to forsake meeting together. She must have forgot that one.
My mother who lives on a fixed income would never give up her dog she loves very much. She also manages to get to church every Sunday as well. I am also a pet owner and would never consider giving up my two dogs. One is a very large dog, about 130lbs. Imagine how much he eats.
I think the Southern is once again pushing an agenda but most of the people in Southern Illinois are not going to see that. Most will just see a poor old lady having to make desperate choices in desperate times.
My final question is this. If things are so terrible and people are having to make all these difficult choices, then why are there so many fat people running around?
